Mount Tamborine, Springbrook & Lammington
Today we took off to Mount Tamborine, Springbrook & Lammington which is inland south west of Brisbane. We went through temperate forest into a mountainous area with rain forest. On the way there we saw our first wild Kangaroo's also some Kookaburras. We went to a Craft Village on Mount Tamborine where Devon Cream Teas are their speciality (everything references back to the mother country here) . We then travelled to the escarpment at Mount Tamborine and watched hang gliders and para gliders decending. Then we went overland to Springbrook driving along ridges with precipeces on either side with wooden sleeper bridges crossing ravines. We stopped at Springbrook for afternoon tea and met a very friendly Rainbow Lorikeet in the garden of the cafe , before we took a walk in the rain forest to see the Purling Brook Falls. It was a stunning day out. DM's driving was great along the twisty mountain roads.
