Prawn Fest 2010

Wellington Point

Took off to Wellington Point today after very slow start due to mother of all hangovers.

Lovely long walk and collected cone shells, oyster shells , and coral pieces.

Made friends with a scrounging Ibis , who loved Ellie's chips.

Bought some Prawns , which were having with garlic butter and a fresh baked bloomer loaf tonight.

Im really disappointed that Ellie dosent like prawns (Not really - all the more for the rest of us.)

Fiona was given the most beautiful bunch of desert flowers on our arrival

Thanks to Pam and Mike

Had a fantastic afternoon and evening with good friends of DM and Emma , Pam & Mike Kilshaw, who entertained us, wonderfully. What an interesting couple Pam and Mike are. Mike is a retired English / Art Teacher , whilst Pam is a civil attourney with power to carry out weddings etc. Together they live and manage a 10 story condominium, in one of the swankiest areas of Brisbane beside the river, Kangaroo Point. Their appartment and gardens were lovely, their home decorated with Mikes super Oil Paintings.

They introduced us to a dried beef jerky which Mike makes himelf.

We had a delicious Barbecue, and Ellie and DM went swimming in their pool which was brave given that it is the the middle of winter.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was being taken up onto the flat roof of the condo to watch evening fall over the city. With the darkness falling large Fruitbats flew past us like something out of a horror moview , as gradually the city was illuminated by neon and the lights of the high rise towers.

Then Got Ratted !!!!!!

Pam and Mike - Thanks for a fantastic day, I just hope your hangovers arent as bad as ours.
