What CAN you do in a park

Story Bridge

Story Bridge

The Story Bridge, opened in July 1940, was named after John Douglas Story - a public servant, and currently has 6 lanes of traffic, plus a footpath and bikeway either side.

These days the bridge links Fortitude Valley with Kangaroo Point. At a distance of 777 metres long, it is a steel cantilever bridge. Apart from its historical significance, there’s the great Hotel that takes its name, almost under its span.

At the annual Riverfire event, the bridge becomes a centre for incredible fireworks displays.

Pass the Port

We didnt have any port so we passed the Camera instead. Cant think why some photos are a bit blurred?

Walk and Lunch at the Story Bridge

Today we went for a walk along the Riverside Boardwalk ending up at the Story Bridge Hotel, where we met Pam and Mike. We had a lovely afternoon setting the world to rights, which turned into a lovely evening (Sore head again this morning Im afraid- but well worth it - impromptu doos are always the best) After the Storey Bridge hotel we returned to DM's appartment where Mike and Pam explained the meaning of life, with special regard to Australian Wine and Castlemaine XXXX.

Should also make mention of the famous Story Bridge Steak and Guiness Pie - Superb
